As part of Tyreis Holder’s solo installation Tek Time, we are inviting you to join us for Tek Root, a special participatory workshop marking the fifth anniversary of Tyreis’ mum’s passing.
Tek Root is a living memorial for those we have lost. For those we carry. For a love that remains.
You are invited to bring the memory of a parent who has passed over, and honour them by planting a living plant in their name.
Together, we will pause, remember and set an intention — something we want to carry forward, something we want to keep alive, or simply something we want to say to the person we are remembering. We will then plant our plants and create handmade textile pot covers.
You will take your plant home with you.
A plant to name. A plant to water. A plant to talk to. A plant to care for. A living reminder of someone whose spirit continues to live with us.
Because remembrance doesn’t have to be still. It can grow.
No previous textile or gardening experience is needed. Come as you are.

Wear Your Roots – Crochet Jewellery Making Workshop

As part of Tyreis Holder’s solo installation Tek Time, we are inviting you to join us for Wear Your Roots, a crochet jewellery-making workshop celebrating St. Vincent, identity and home.
Participants will learn simple crochet techniques to make a piece of jewellery, such as earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, a brooch or charm.
The idea is that what we wear can carry identity. We adorn ourselves with colour, texture, memory and things that connect us to where we come from.
We will use the colours of St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a starting point – blue, gold and green – encouraging participants to interpret them in their own way, rather than simply reproducing the flag.
What would you wear to carry a little piece of home with you?
