Ian Sergeant
Dr Ian Sergeant is the Senior Curator (Global Majority Collections), Birmingham Museums Trust.
He was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow on Transforming Collections: Reimagining Art, Heritage and Nation, Decolonising
Arts Institute, University of the Arts London (2022-24).
He is Co-Artistic Director of performing and visual arts company Kalaboration CIC and Co-Founder of SOMA a purpose-built mobile collection of books, journals, ephemera, archival materials, niche publications, exhibition catalogues, rare texts, and films that centre on Black art and artists.
He is the Chair of media practice-based arts organisation Vivid Projects, and an Honorary Research Fellow, University of Birmingham.
