Ashleigh M Barice
Ashleigh M. Barice completed an MRes Art in Theory and Philosophy at Central Saint Martins, and has worked at the Contemporary Arts Centre New Orleans, the McKenna Museum of African American Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Gallery Veriditas, National Museums Liverpool, and the Wilkinson Gallery, London. Inspired by the arrival of critical art discourse in Post-Katrina New Orleans, she is committed to ensuring an equal platform for all artists in both the public and private sphere
Barice previously ran a responsive space called b.Dewitt gallery, which worked alongside and in conversation with artists whose practice engaged with social and political considerations. Through supporting artistic practice, the space aimed to raise the international profile and networks of the artists that we worked with, acting as (an) agency, curatorial body, and gallerist through conducting temporary exhibitions and contextual programmes in borrowed locations.
