Creating Equitable Partnerships Workshop with RESOLVE Collective and Black Blossoms
ICF led an online workshop on Creating Equitable Partnerships with Seth Scafe-Smith from RESOLVE Collective and Bolanle Tajudeen from Black Blossoms, as part of CVAN’s day-long learning programme ‘Making Time for Equitable Change‘.
This workshop and emergent conversation focused on fostering more equitable collaborations between large and small organisations. The session reflected on approaches to cultural production, funding, equity and sustainability in relation to experiences of collaborative partnerships. The session was part of a programme of work we are developing to learn, share and develop strategies for fostering new methodologies and ways of working together that are equally beneficial and productive for all partners and responsive to their respective communities.
RESOLVE is an interdisciplinary design collective that combines architecture, engineering, technology and art to address social challenges. They have delivered numerous projects, workshops, publications, and talks in the UK and across Europe, all of which look toward realising just and equitable visions of change in our built environment.
Bolanle Tajudeen (she/her) is the founder of Black Blossoms – an expanded curatorial platform showcasing contemporary Black women and non-binary artists since 2015. In 2020 Bolanle launched the Black Blossoms School of Art and Culture, an online learning platform decolonizing art education.
Making Time for Equitable Change was a day-long programme of public learning events informed by the findings of CVAN’s Fair and Equitable programme report ‘Fostering Equity in the Visual Arts’. Making Time for Equitable Change focused on sharing knowledge about how organisations, artists and arts workers can make practical changes to create more equitable working practices in the visual arts sector.
