Sibahle Serpent Daniel
Sibahle Serpent Daniel (they/he) is a cultural practitioner, researcher and lens-based artist committed to dissident and experimental artistic and curatorial forms.
Focused on the afterlife of violence within the Pan-African and global South context, their current work seeks to interrogate the material, spatial and socio-political conditions through which Black life is weathered into noise and silence. Serpent has contributed to projects with the Afropocene Studio Lab, Black Cultural Archives, FORMA and Otherness Archives amongst others. They hold a BA (Hons) in Anthropology and Visual Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London. Serpent is also the co-founder of jonga⭒sani, an online platform dedicated to the recovery of African ethno- and electronic music.
