Tobi Kyeremateng

She recently produced the Film4 and BFI-backed short film LEAVING IKORODU IN 1999, recorded on film in Nigeria, which was longlisted for Best British Short at the 2025 British Independent Film Awards and British/Irish Short of the Year at the Critics’ Circle Awards. It won the City of Melbourne Grand Prix for Best Short Film at Melbourne International Film Festival, qualifying it for the 98th Academy Awards. For television, she was Series Producer on DATING HORROR STORIES S1 (Comedy Central), and produced DROPPED (Channel 4 Comedy), KONAN: TRAPPED IN TRAUMA (Channel 4 Documentaries) and HOW TO BE A PERSON (E4), which won Best Short Form Programme at the 2023 BAFTA Television Awards. In the same year, she was awarded the Netflix New Talent Award at the Women In Film & TV Awards. Her work has been shown across broadcast and media platforms such as BBC, BFI, Channel 4, Comedy Central, Film4, Netflix, NOWNESS and Sky Arts Across moving image, she has worked with artists Julianknxx, Darryl Daley and Deborah Joyce Holman, with work exhibited at 180 Strand, Contemporary Art New York, Whitechapel Gallery, Kunsthalle Bern, and Tank Shanghai. She most recently curated a 6-week public programme at the Barbican Centre in response to the exhibition Project a Black Planet: The Art and Culture of Panafrica. She has also curated film programmes for The National Gallery and Tate Modern. Named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe honouree and a 2025 Screen Star of Tomorrow, Tobi is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents, Rotterdam Producers Lab, BAFTA Elevate and BFI NETWORK@LFF. Through her production and curatorial studio Them Ones, which is a recipient of the 2025 and 2026 BBC Small Indie Fund, she is developing several feature films with BBC Film, alongside other television and curatorial projects.
