Anjalika Sagar
Anjalika Sagar (born 1968) is an artist, writer, curator and theorist based in London. She works across film, video, photography, performance and installation, and is co founder of The Otolith Group and The Otolith Collective, established in 2002.
She studied Social Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and at Middlesex University. Since 2002, The Otolith Group has produced moving image works, installations, photography, performances and publications exploring decolonisation, non alignment, planetary modernity and transnational political imaginaries through archival research, speculative thought and cinematic experimentation. Their work has been commissioned and presented by museums, galleries, biennials and foundations worldwide, including recent exhibitions at greengrassi, London; the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin (2024); the Secession, Vienna (2022); and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2022). The Otolith Collective is an artist led organisation supporting research led artistic practice through exhibitions, writing, commissions and public programmes that foster collaboration, critical dialogue and new forms of cultural production across visual art, film, music and post lens based media.
