“Two and a half weeks. A river and the sea, a city, a spirit – important piece of the puzzle – of an intimate Atlantic culture. Impressions, too fast or fitting, fascination and rejection. At first seek out form and light, then collect symbols that will link to others elsewhere. Traces of history, building bridges, for themselves, between yesterday and today. Red bricks, a colour like strength and injury. "Modernity" does not interest me, it tends to be the same everywhere, that is its context which nourished my knowledge, my imagination.”
»Deux semaines et demie. Un fleuve et la mer, une cité, un esprit, pièce importante du puzzle, d'une culture Atlantique intime. Impressions, trop rapides ou justes, fascination et rejet. Chercher d'abord une forme et la lumière, glaner ensuite quelques symboles qui s'entre-lierons à d'autres, ailleurs. Traces d'histoires, faire le pont, pour soi, entre l'hier et l'aujourd'hui. Briques rouges, couleur, comme un signe de force et de blessures. La ‘Modernité’ ne m'intéresse pas, elle tend à être identique partout, c'est son contexte qui nourri ma connaissance, mon imaginaire.«
